Addicted

So I have a 2 year-old son (Josh) who is addicted to tags. He loves tags and will inspect stuffed animals to determine if their tags make them worth carrying around. No big deal, but lately the attachment has spread to other household fabrics. Recently, we have caught him searching for tags on bath towels, comforters, and clothing.

The last couple days, Josh has slowly become attracted to this hideous rust-orange hand towel (with a strip of lace across one end). On Sunday, he would stand in his room and hold the tag while the rest of the towel sat on his dresser. Every time Josh went in his room, he had to stop and test the tag out. On Monday, he would pick up the whole towel, hold it for a minute, then set it back in the exact original position, with the tag hanging down for better reachability. However, by Tuesday, the lure of the towel was too strong to resist. Josh carried the towel around the house with him the whole day! Luckily, I was able to convince him that it would get dirty outside, otherwise it would have gone on a walk with us!

To all who are wondering: "How to test a tag's worth"
Turn animal or fabric item around until you find the tag. (Yes, this means that the poor animal, doll, whatever will be upside-down.) Hold tag between right thumb and forefinger while putting left thumb in mouth. Smooth, satinny tags are best. A tag that is a perfect loop for putting your finger through is a definite plus. Find a perfect-looped, satinny tag and you've hit the jackpot!
